How People No Longer Care

The world is not what it used to be. The news seems to be dominated by grueling accounts of domestic violence, child abuse, civil unrest, and aggression, among other forms of society going berserk. With time, people tend to get less affected by what they hear, till it sounds normal. The result is a people who are comfortable with a shocking amount of violence in our environment. Time has come for there to be a difference.

Children also do not see what the big deal is. They see no problem with all the violence around them. When a neighbor is suffering; nobody will bother to get concerned. We shall only be bothered by the number of children suffering out there, so long as ours are safely home.

All the time we see these happenings and do nothing makes us even more tolerant to the sheer magnitude of evil acts being committed, that we are supposed to stop. There never misses an account of how people are being trafficked into slavery, yet we are not moved by this. When it comes to the issue of animal cruelty, we are found already ignorant of suffering to care much about it. This is why there is such a large number of animals currently suffering, with no one to protect them. Animals are being used as testing objects for so many experiments, most of them downright cruel to them. The meat industry is also a culprit in such acts.

There are so many cases of people behaving violently towards the animals they see on a daily basis. Those with pets will find it hard to think of such things being done to theirs. Unfortunately, this is what is happening to millions of dogs and cats.

These acts only serve to highlight the fall from humanity human beings have managed. The strong are oppressing the weak more and more. This would explain why someone would find it normal to injure a harmless and peaceful pet. Pets are simply not able to survive without their owners. They would never start haring their owners. This means we need to amend the way we treat these animals.

People need to rise up and do something about such acts. There is no shortage of animals that need someone to go out of their way to help them. This will be the beginning of the end when people say that they see there is a problem. There is a problem when people go missing and nobody bothers following up. We also need to be vigilant when it comes to incidences of animal cruelty. We need to see how best we can support organizations like the Humane Society of the United States. It is out there campaigning for the protection of the rights of these animals. They need each of us to be the ambassadors for these animals.
